Gold prices in the country have increased again after falling for seven consecutive times.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,157 per bhori, setting the new price at Tk237,012. The revised price came into effect from 10am on Saturday.
Bajus said the decision to adjust prices was made considering the overall market situation, particularly due to an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
According to the new rates, the price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk226,282 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 18-carat gold is Tk193,914 per bhori, while gold of traditional method is priced at Tk157,931 per bhori.
Earlier, on Friday, Bajus reduced gold prices for the seventh consecutive time. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was lowered by Tk6,590 to Tk234,855 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold was Tk224,182, 18-carat gold Tk192,164, and traditional gold Tk156,473 per bhori.
According to Bajus data, gold prices have been adjusted 48 times in the domestic market so far this year—27 times increased and 21 times decreased. In 2025, prices were adjusted 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk5,365 per bhori, 21-carat silver at Tk5,132, 18-carat silver at Tk4,432, and traditional silver at Tk3,324 per bhori.
So far this year, silver prices have been adjusted 29 times—16 increases and 13 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were adjusted 13 times.
